
Pre-Operative Instructions
Dr. Richard Kim's Pre-Operative Instructions
1) Two Weeks Before Surgery:
You must avoid the following:
Aspirin or aspirin-related products (you can take Tylenol).
Motrin, Advil, or Ibuprofen products.
Vitamin E.
Smoking.
2) The Day Before Your Surgery:
Morning Surgery: Do not eat or drink anything after midnight.
Afternoon Surgery: You may eat a small meal 10 hours before your scheduled surgery time.
Local Anesthesia Only: No eating restrictions.
3) The Morning of Surgery:
You may take your daily medications with a sip of water.
4) Transportation:
Please arrange for someone to drive you home.
You will not be released from the recovery area unless you have transportation.
5) What to Bring:
Your insurance card.
Your credit card to settle any outstanding balance with the hospital.
