Hand & Wrist Surgery       Congenital Hand Surgery       Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

Dr. Kim first started practicing medicine in academia, at Brown University/ Rhode Island Hospital.  Upon returning to New Jersey, he served as Chief of Hand Surgery at the Hackensack University Medical Center from 2007- 2016.  Then in 2017, he decided to start an independent practice with the goal of providing high level and personal care, focusing on the individual.

We treat all orthopedic problems below the elbow, and any nerve or soft tissue problems involving the upper extremity.  Common conditions we treat range from hand/ wrist fractures/ dislocations, various types of arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome/ nerve compressions, congenital hand differences, tendon/ nerve injuries, and cysts/ soft tissue deformities.  In addition, we treat plastic/ reconstructive issues arising from development, trauma, or cancer elsewhere in the body.

Our patients span newborn infants to the elderly.  We see many regional school-aged, college level, and professional level athletes.  We serve mostly New Jersey and the metro New York area, but also treat patients from across the country.

Our practice is based on communication, shared knowledge, keeping at the edge of science, and a mutual decision making- directly between doctor, patient, and family.

“Dr Kim was phenomenal. The absolute best hand surgeon around. My son broke his left pinky bone, which they call it a boxer fracture in a baseball game. So happy for the recommendation to go see Dr. Kim, my son‘s hand is as good as new. If I can give 100 stars, I would.”
